What is SLIM on TSLA?

The Stop Loss Investment Model (SLIM) on TSLA aims to detect beginnings and endings of bear periods in Tesla stock by analyzing various stock indicators in the short and mid-term past. When it detects a buy or sell moment, it creates trigger signals. Subscribers are immediately informed about such signals.
The system is tuned to an optimal balance of quantity of trigger signals and some lossy waiting at an alleged trend reversal:
– Too many signals would ruin the performance improvement with broker fees and slippage.
– Too few signals would mean higher losses in trend reversals or even missing out on a reversed trend.
The number of annual trigger signals varies depending on the volatility: While in 2024, there were only 6, we had 25 signals in 2023.
