This is the privacy policy of SLIM Systems, Roger Rusch, click to show address (“SLIM Systems” or “we”).

In this privacy policy, we inform you about the processing of your personal data on slim.systems also referred to as “our digital services” where necessary.

2. Personal data

Personal data is information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as your name, your e-mail address, your telephone number, your postal address, the IP address of your computer or your payment data.

3. Operation of our digital services

We process your personal data in order to be able to offer you the best possible services and information on this website, tailored to you as far as possible.

4. Processed data

4.1 Automatically recorded data

We process the following data in order to be able to display the right information for you in our digital services:

  • The address of the page you accessed on our website
  • The address of the website you visited immediately before (the so-called “referrer”)
  • Date and time of your visit
  • The characteristics of your end device, in particular the operating system, the browser used and the window size of your browser
  • The IP address of your end device on the Internet
  • Randomly assigned identification numbers that we store on your end device. We can use this identification number to recognize your device in our digital services in order to allow for a hassle-free user experience. Technically, these identification numbers are stored in so-called cookies.
  • Device identifiers, which consist of individual features of your end device. We can also use these device identifiers to recognize your end device in our digital services. Examples of such device identifiers are
    • The “Ad-ID” of the Apple operating system iOS
    • The “advertising ID” of the Android operating system

The legal basis for the associated data processing is Art. 6 (1) f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. a balancing of interests based on our legitimate interest in offering you digital services that are as attractive and functional as possible. We delete the log data listed in this section 365 days after using our website.

4.2 Data provided by you

We also process your personal data if you provide us with personal data (e.g. first name, surname, email address).

Unless otherwise stated in the following regulations, the legal basis for the associated data processing is GDPR Art. 6 (1) a) (consent, e.g. in the case of consent to an e-mail newsletter, Art. 6 (1) b) (contract fulfillment, e.g. to receive our signals as a subscriber) or Art. 6 (1) f) (data processing to fulfill our legitimate interest).

5. Purposes of data processing

5.1 Signals for SLIM subscribers

If you subscribe to our paid digital services (e.g. SLIM signals), we store and process your personal data in order to provide you with the services you subscribed to. The legal basis for this is Art. (1) b) GDPR (contract fulfillment). You can cancel your paid subscription in your user account on our website.

For payments, we use Stripe as our payment service provider. Your payment data is directly sent to Stripe, and we do not process or store any personal payment data on our website and IT systems.

5.2 E-mail newsletter

We may offer all users of our website the option of receiving an e-mail newsletter. Registration takes place by providing an email address and granting the corresponding consent. The legal basis for the associated data processing is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR in conjunction with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time for the future. The easiest way to do this is to click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the end of each email newsletter.

5.3 Contact form

If you send us inquiries (e.g. by contact form or e-mail), we process the personal data you provide in order to process and respond to your inquiry. The legal basis for this is Art. (1) b) GDPR (contract fulfillment: the processing of your data is necessary for the fulfillment of the agreement on answering the questions or concerns).

6. Cookies & Analysis Tools

6.1 Introduction

Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser on your end device to store certain information. The next time you visit this website with the same device, the information stored in cookies is subsequently sent back either to this website (“first party cookie”) or to another website to which the cookie belongs (“third party cookie”).

The stored and returned information enables the respective website to recognize that you have already accessed and visited it with the browser of your end device. We use this information to optimize the design and display of the website according to your preferences. Only the cookie itself is identified on your end device.

Personal data will only be stored with your express consent or if this is absolutely necessary in order to be able to use the service offered and called up by you accordingly.

6.2 Google Analytics

This website might use (it currently does not, but might in the future) Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) in the form of the so-called Basic Mode. Google Analytics uses cookies which, with your consent, are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization “anonymizeIp()” on this platform, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on platform activity and providing other services relating to platform activity and internet usage to the website operator.

We would like to point out that the Google Analytics cookie has a storage period of 14 months.

On July 10, 2023, the EU Commission adopted its adequacy decision for the EU-US data protection framework. This stipulates that the USA guarantees an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU to US companies that is comparable to that of the EU. The corresponding data transfer to the USA is based on Art. 45 (1), (3) sentence 1 GDPR. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR in conjunction with your consent.

6.3 Revocation of consent to the use of performance cookies:

You can revoke your consent to the use of performance cookies at any time with effect for the future, or by accessing the “Manage Consent” banner on the right side of the screen.

6.4 Objection to data processing:

You can also prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

7. Use of external service providers

7.1 Introduction

For the operation of our system solution, we commission external service providers with data processing (e.g. for the storage of data in data centers). Where necessary, these service providers also process personal data. The service providers are carefully selected and monitored by us. They process the data exclusively in accordance with our instructions and are also bound by this privacy policy.

7.2 cyon

We host our website with cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, CH-4052 Basel, Switzerland.

  • Function: cyon acts as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR) for hosting and technical operation of the website.
  • Processed data: Server log files (IP address, date/time, accessed pages, browser type, referrer URL), for a maximum of 365 days.
  • Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR) in the secure and reliable operation of the website and in improving our digital services to better meet the needs of our visitors and customers.
  • Data location: Data is stored exclusively in Switzerland (adequate level of data protection recognised by the EU Commission pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR – no third-country transfer).

7.3 Stripe

We use Stripe (provided by Stripe Inc., 510 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA, and its European subsidiary Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland) to process payments for subscriptions and one-time purchases.

  • Function: Stripe acts as a payment processor (contract processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR) and, in certain cases (e.g., fraud prevention and compliance with card scheme rules), as an independent controller.
  • Processed data: Name, email address, billing address, payment method details (credit card number, expiry date, CVC), transaction amount, IP address, and other data required for payment processing and fraud prevention.
  • Legal basis: Performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR) and legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR) in secure and fraud-free payment processing.
  • International data transfer: Where data is transferred to Stripe Inc. in the United States, the transfer is safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and, as a supplementary measure, by Stripe’s binding standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

The Stripe payment interface is integrated into our website via iFrame, which means that customers’ payment details are sent directly to Stripe, and SLIM Systems’ servers do not process or store any user payment details.

7.4 PayPal

We use PayPal (provided by PayPal Inc., 2211 North First Street, San Jose, CA 95131, USA, and its European subsidiary PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg) as an additional payment method.

  • Function: PayPal acts as an independent controller for payment processing.
  • Processed data: PayPal account data, name, email address, transaction details, IP address.
  • Legal basis: Performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR).
  • International data transfer: Where applicable, data is transferred to PayPal Inc. in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and standard contractual clauses (SCCs).

For a payment via PayPal, the PayPal payment interface opens in a new page/tab, which means that customers’ interact directly with PayPal, and SLIM Systems’ servers do not process or store any user payment details.

7.5 Twilio

Subscribers can choose to receive our digital services (e.g. SLIM signals) via email or text message (SMS; only available in certain countries). We use Twilio Inc., 375 Beale Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA to send these service-related SMS messages.

  • Function: Twilio acts as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR).
  • Processed data: Mobile phone number and the message content.
  • Legal basis: Performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR) and your consent (Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR) for SMS notifications.
  • International data transfer: Data is transferred to Twilio in the United States. The transfer is safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and Twilio’s standard contractual clauses (SCCs).

You can withdraw your consent for SMS notifications at any time by logging in into your user account and disabling signal delivery via SMS.

8. Data storage

Personal data will only be stored by us for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here and then deleted unless we are obliged or entitled to further storage for legal reasons.

9. Right to object

If data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) f) (data processing to protect legitimate interests), you have the right to object to the processing at any time. To declare your objection, you can send us an email (click to send email).

10. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis SLIM Systems, Roger Rusch, with regard to the personal data concerning you:

  • Right to rectification or erasure,
  • Right to restriction of processing,
